23 Mar Picasso-Rutault. Grand Ecart > 20th november 2018 – 20th march 2019
Claude Rutault offers a dialogue with the works in the museum’s collection: paintings, graphic arts, sculptures will be presented. It is about proposing a “big difference” between a traditional view of painting, that of a finished canvas, signed and dated, and the creative process of Rutault establishing a description of the work, brought to renew itself.
The two works present two moments of painting, the position of two artists who seem irreconcilable and yet appear here side by side. The exhibition finds an echo beetwin “Picasso. Masterpieces!” and a work by Claude Rutault in Salon Jupiter.
