How did the artist Fernando Zóbel die?
The painter Fernando Zóbel died of a heart attack in 1984 during a trip to Rome. Zóbel’s body was repatriated to Spain and buried at the Saint Isidro cemetery in the town of Cuenca, near to the Júcar river. A large retrospective exhibition of the Spanish painter’s work was held at the Fundación Juan March in Madrid that same year, which would travel all over Spain.
