What is the name of the last painting by Pablo Picasso?
The last painting created by Pablo Picasso was Autoportrait d’un Chinois, which the artist painted in 1972 (Musée du Louvre).
Pablo Picasso painted until the end of his life, and during his final years, the painter explored a series of new themes—musketeers, bullfighters and mother-and-child scenes—in a number of works that were exhibited at the Palais des Papes in Avignon in 1970. In 1971, the painter created, among others, Baigneuse (Museo Picasso, Málaga), Étreinte (Montreal Museum of Fine Arts) and Maternité à la pomme (Musée Picasso, Paris), before finally painting Autoportrait d’un Chinois in 1972 (Musée du Louvre).
