Les Rythmes essentiels de la vie 15 May - 27 Jun 2025 “When I paint a tree, a branch, flight, the forest, the human figure, all things that cannot be made in a factory, all things that are not manufactured, all of that fascinates me. It is in that place that I find a spiritual field in which I resonate, in which... Read more -
JEAN MIOTTE
L’Invitation au voyage 6 Mar - 19 Apr 2025 Some artists take the understanding of their art to the very furthest reaches. Jean Miotte pushed the experience of life very far. He did not just want to paint: he had to paint. Painting became essential to him, in order to live. He traversed the self through the act of... Read more -
SERGIO DE CASTRO
L’Atelier 16 Jan - 28 Feb 2025 “I may paint studios all my life, just as others have painted self-portraits.” The words of Franco-Argentinian painter, musician and poet Sergio de Castro (1922-2012) invite us to explore the many facets and meanings of the studio space in his work: from its concrete, historical dimension as a place for... GÉRARD SCHNEIDER
Espaces colorés – Œuvres 1970-1978 21 Nov - 21 Dec 2024 Coloured space truly took possession of the canvas. The term “space” is used here deliberately: the omnipresent colour tangibly creates a space – even a new dimension within the composition. It is indeed a significant dimension. By no means a background or a kind of receptacle, this pure, sometimes uniform-looking... Read more -
SANYU
Hors champ 10 Oct - 16 Nov 2024 Technical experimentation undertaken between the world wars influenced the artistic field. The camera, as used by Man Ray in the studio and by Jacques-Henri Lartigue outside, among other examples, overturned the system of representation. In his drawing practice, Sanyu (1895-1966) also overturned the academism of his era, through his use... Read more -

JEAN MIOTTE & LA DANSE
Une Abstraction chorégraphique 17 Oct - 30 Nov 2023 “Movement is my life” maintains Jean Miotte. Indeed, movement and dance have fascinated deeply the artist. In 1948, Miotte followed his Russian friends to London where the Ballets Russes de Colonel W. de Basil were performing. It was with great joy that he discovered the world of dance. The artist... Face au modèle 14 Sep - 12 Oct 2023 Sanyu arrived in Paris in 1921. Hitherto unknown to Sanyu, the city represented an entirely new horizon, a new civilisation for the young artist.
