Bernard Buffet was a precocious painter who achieved immediate success with a unique style, initially marked by incisive graphics and an austerity reflecting post-war anxiety. Around the turn of the 1960s, his palette broadened, and he developed a great mastery of colour. This exhibition, in partnership with the Comité Bernard Buffet, offers an immersion into these two dimensions of his work through a selection of paintings and works on paper created between 1954 and 1999.
