How did the painter Tsugouharu Foujita die?
On 29 January 1968, the painter of modern art, Léonard Tsugouharu Foujita died of cancer in Zurich, Switzerland at the age of 81. He was initially buried at Reims and then transferred to Villiers-le-Bâcle. His remains were finally placed with those of his ex-wife in the beautiful Foujita chapel at Reims. In fact, the frescoes of this chapel are the final monumental project of the painter Foujita at the end of his life, to celebrate his strong spirituality.
