Annabel Schwob was born in Paris in 1928. A singer, writer and actress, she met the painter Bernard Buffet in Saint Tropez in 1958. Bernard and Annabel were married in the same year, on 12th December.
Annabel became her husband’s muse and found herself at the heart of his work—as demonstrated by one of the artist’s exhibitions, entitled Trente fois Annabel Schwob [Thirty times Annabel Schwob]. The couple adopted three children: Virginie, born in 1962, Danielle, born in 1963, and Nicolas, born in 1971.
